Set up your first event

Follow these steps as the event owner. The examples use Aurora Event, a demonstration event. Replace them with your own name, dates, links, and prices.

1. Activate and connect the objects

Complete activation and object installation. Confirm a connected Server and an Active payment terminal. Marketing, Discord, Facebook, and a custom domain are optional for your first round.

2. Give the event its identity

Open Settings → Brand. Enter your public name, a readable portal slug such as aurora-event, support email, logo, and colors. Select Save brand. Copy the generated public address instead of typing an assumed URL. Field guide.

While preparing, keep public access closed in Settings → Operations and use the editor previews.

3. Set the rules for designers

Open Settings → Submission policy. Decide the number of products, image size limit, required links, notes, and when editing closes. Select Save settings. Then open Categories, enter the exact choices you want designers to see, and save again. Policy · Categories.

4. Set the fee and weekly dates

In Settings → Operations, enter the Default weekly fee (L$) and the payment terminal's land link. Set all six weekday/time pairs: enrollment opens/closes, payments open/close, event starts/ends. Read them in SLT. Select Save settings.

Open Rounds and inspect the resulting round's dates and actual fee. Rounds follow the workspace schedule; you do not need to find a “Create round” form. Use Sync from settings only when you intend to apply the current schedule. Schedule guide · Round controls.

5. Prepare the public pages

In Applications → Layout, write the instructions, requirements and terms. Preview the form, then Save changes.

In Site Homepage → Layout, edit the homepage sections and preview them. The homepage saves its draft automatically. Select Publish homepage when ready; saving a draft alone does not publish it. Application form · Homepage.

6. Open access and check one complete creator journey

In Settings → Operations, enable the public portal, creator login and applications as needed, then Save access settings. Open the copied public link in a private browser window.

With a separate avatar, check this sequence:

  1. Complete an application and the event's in-world verification.
  2. As the owner, open Applications → Pending review, inspect it, and approve it.
  3. As the creator, sign in to the event's portal.
  4. Check the round and pay its fee once at the terminal, when payment is required and open.
  5. Complete the round submission and send it for review.
  6. As the owner, review the submission and approve acceptable content.
  7. Create or refresh the gallery draft, inspect the images and links, then publish the gallery.

Check both the designer's receipt and any commission before calling the payment test complete. Do not remove a real receipt just to repeat a test. Payments · Creator submission · Gallery.

7. Open the event to everyone

Check the published pages on a phone and a desktop browser. Confirm that buttons lead to your event, the support email is correct, and the Server and terminal remain available. Invite staff through Workspace Team if needed.

Enable the automations you actually want after checking their schedules and destinations. Follow the separate guides before connecting Second Life marketing, Discord, or Facebook.

Ready to receive designers: the public form works, the creator can sign in, the payment appears correctly, and an approved submission is visible in the published gallery.
