Applications — Layout
The Layout page controls the public form that creators complete when they ask to join your event. It changes the presentation and the wording around the form; it does not remove the identity and security checks needed to connect an application to a real Second Life avatar.
What the creator sees
The guided application normally collects:
- basic identity information;
- the Second Life verification code;
- store details and links;
- social links; and
- a creator portal password.
Use the layout controls to make the event's introduction clear, explain what the creator should prepare, and choose the labels that fit your event's tone. Write instructions for someone applying for the first time: say what a field is for, where to find the information, and what happens after submission.
Before publishing application changes
Read the form from the creator's point of view. Check that the event name, dates, fee explanation, contact instructions, and links are current. Avoid asking for passwords belonging to other services. A creator should never need to share a Second Life password with the event team.
Save the layout while drafting, then open the public application page and complete a test application. Confirm that the verification step works and that the form does not promise approval before the team reviews it.
The settings that allow or disable applications live under Settings → Operations. Layout changes improve the form's explanation; they do not reopen applications when the workspace has deliberately disabled them.
