Discord — Templates

Templates are the reusable messages that EventSale sends to Discord. Create a template once, preview it, and reuse it in campaigns and automatic event notifications instead of rewriting the same announcement every time.

Create a template

Choose New template or start with one of the starter presets. Give it a clear Template name and add an Internal note so another manager understands when to use it.

Set the Template type and Default channel. The channel purpose helps EventSale place the template in the correct route. A template can be saved before the Discord route is ready, but it will not deliver until a connected channel exists.

The optional Preferred campaign recipe preselects a scheduling pattern when a campaign is created from this template. It is a convenience, not a delivery guarantee; always review the campaign schedule.

Choose the message format

The Layout selector offers:

  • Message only for a simple chat message;
  • Message + announcement card for text plus a rich card; or
  • Announcement card only when the card contains everything the reader needs.

For the card, write the Card title, Card body, and Footer text. You can choose an accent color, add a square thumbnail, and add a larger image or GIF. For a thumbnail, Cover crop fills the square while Contain with padding preserves the entire image. The focus point controls which part remains visible when a crop is used.

Use the live preview while writing. Keep the first line useful because Discord readers often decide whether to expand a message from its opening words.

Enable and test

Set State to Enabled when the template is ready. Save the template, then use its test action to send a controlled test to the configured route. Confirm the wording, links, images, and destination in Discord before attaching it to an automatic campaign.

Disabling a template keeps it stored but prevents it from being selected as an active delivery layout. It does not change messages that were already delivered.
