Frequently asked questions
If the commission is 5%, why would I receive L$85 from L$100?
With only a 5% commission, you receive L$95. L$85 would require another L$10 allocation, such as a partner share you explicitly configured. It is not the default deduction. See Understand earnings.
Does 5% mean a fixed L$5 fee?
No. It depends on the accepted sale amount. At 5%, L$100 gives a L$5 commission and L$20 gives L$1. Integer Linden Dollar rounding applies; the current percentage calculation rounds down, so 5% of L$5 gives L$0, not L$5.
Do I need to enter a UUID for a manual delivery?
No. You can enter the avatar's Second Life username, and Vendor resolves it when needed. You can also use the UUID. Use the username rather than an ambiguous display name. If resolution fails, correct the input and try again; no delivery is queued until the recipient is resolved.
Is a Product the same as a Vendor?
No. A Product defines the catalog item, price and rules. A Vendor is a rezzed sales object assigned to a Product. A Dropbox holds the inventory used for item delivery. Several Vendors can sell the same Product.
Is a Vendor Group a Second Life group?
No. Vendor Groups organize objects in the dashboard. Second Life groups control in-world membership and active-group checks. A discount profile can target a Second Life group separately.
Does buying a Demo give ownership of the full Product?
A Demo request does not establish a paid purchase of the full Product. It does not use the same entitlement as an eligible completed purchase.
Can a customer recover a gift?
The actual recipient can recover an eligible gift when the Product permits Redelivery. The payer and recipient may be different avatars. Store Credit Products cannot be redelivered to issue credit again.
Will a manual send charge the avatar or create a sale?
No. It queues a manual item delivery. It does not fabricate a paid purchase, collect Linden Dollars or automatically grant the same entitlement as a completed purchase.
Does sending a Product update charge previous customers?
No. An update batch targets the previewed eligible recipients of completed Vendor purchases. Review that recipient preview; manually sent items, Demos and imported history alone do not necessarily qualify.
Can Store Credit be refunded as Linden Dollars?
Store Credit cannot be cashed out. An eligible failed credit purchase can be reversed through the credit workflow to restore that store's balance. It is different from an in-world L$ payment refund.
Will importing sales send every item again?
No. Historical import adds reviewed purchase history. It does not collect money or queue another delivery. Begin with a dry run and confirm the Product, recipient and source evidence before committing.
Why does a refund need review when the customer already received it?
The money movement and its server confirmation are separate. Missing confirmation can leave the report pending even if the refund happened. Compare the Second Life transaction records before making another refund.
Will a new plan or percentage change old reports?
Completed sales keep their recorded financial policy and allocations. Reports do not recalculate old purchases using today's commission or partner settings.
